The Art & Science of Mindfulness

Learn how to meditate in order to reduce stress and unlock more joy in your life!

This half-day workshop will discuss why science based mindfulness meditation is so effective and will teach you practical and accessible techniques to integrate into your daily life. You will learn how to not only reduce the stressors in your life, but change your relationship to those stressors in order to feel a deeper sense of connection, happiness, and peace. This 3-hour workshop will include yoga, journaling, and meditation, so please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pen and notebook with you.

Led by Ashley Nelson and Amy Owen

Both Ashley and Amy have witnessed first hand how their mindfulness practices have helped them handle intense personal challenges with a heightened ability to cope more effectively. They feel passionately about sharing it with others.

For more than a decade, Ashley has been teaching and sharing the power of mindfulness in corporate, community and non-profit settings. She completed rigorous training in neuroscience, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence at the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute and UC San Diego’s Mindfulness Based Professional Training Institute in the School of Medicine. An SIY Certified Teacher, executive coach, and Qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher, Ashley is also a certified hatha yoga instructor.

Amy Owen was certified in Transcendental meditation in 1987 and is a 500-hour trained yoga instructor who incorporates meditation and breath work in her regular asana classes, with private clients and on her yoga retreats.
