The Space Between
There is a line attributed to Viktor Frankl, pyschotherapist, holocaust survivor and author of Man’s Search for Meaning, that connects me to a daily mindfulness practice. “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is the power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
When we can pause, ever so slightly, as we are receiving a particular moment, space appears. In that space, we see options and possibilities that are otherwise unavailable. That space creates the possibility for awareness. That awareness, if we lean into it, creates a wisdom that is liberating.
With Peace,
